I’m on a diet to lose weight. This diet tells me to eat a lot of vegetables every day. What kind of spices?

or flavoring should I use to make the vegetables taste good?

The ONLY way I’ll eat zucchini or squash is to slice thin, use a tiny tiny tiny amount of oil (any kind, you just want the spice to stick) and old bay seasoning. Then grill. YUMMY!!!!

Rosemary and thyme are good on root veggies

Cayenne pepper and cumin for a spicy/smoky taste

I found this site for some marinades that sound really yummy:

Remember, yes maple syrup or brown sugar are used in a couple marinade recipes but one, its in small amounts, and two, you’re not going to drink the marinade. So either save those for special occasions or skip the sugar added ones entirely.

You can also do a quick pickling marinade too for a totally different flavor. Like some from here: http://recipeland.com/recipes/recipe/search?q=pickled+vegetables

Be careful of what you put on vegetables, to make them taste good, many of the things people slather on vegetables, make them higher in calories. Dressings mayo butter etc. You need to count calories, read the back of the container to help you decide. And by the way vegetables taste good by themselves, this new diet may help you discover this. Try cucumbers, the english or hot house variety, with just a little salt and pepper on them they have fewer calories in them than it takes to digest them. Good luck.

Fresh dill and parsley with just a pinch of seasoning salt (not too much as sodium is a killer on a diet). I used to work at a group home and the kids would NOT eat the veggies unless I made them!!! If you can get your hands on a LOT of fresh dill and parsley at a farmers market, wash it and dice it fine. I put it in jars then (loosely) and freeze it. When you make your veggies and salads, you just pull your jar out, flake off with a fork what you need, and out back in the freezer. Dried dill is NO comaprison and has no flavor. Basically any fresh spices will be your ticket – basil, oregano, thyme, anything. Find what you like and enjoy. I put dill on everything and then nver use butter! Yummy! I hope that helps! Best wishes!
