Does jumping rope help you loose belly fat?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Im trying to loose some fat in the belly area. Doo you think that jump rope will help?

Yeah you will burn fat throughout your body. Jumping rope for 10 minutes is equivalent to a 30 minute jog which means it’s quite an intensive workout.

Jumping rope also releases the HGH hormone which is your natural fat burning hormone. If you do this interval training routine for 15 minutes, you will definitely notice a difference:

* Stand in front of a clock or timer of some sort
* Jump Rope for 3 minutes to warm up
* Rest for 30 seconds
* Jump rope as quickly as possible for 60 seconds
* Rest for 30 seconds
* Jump Rope as quickly as possible for 60 seconds
* Rest for 30 seconds
* Repeat this alternating pattern for 15-20 minutes

In addition, your core gets worked hard since your abs have to contract to stabilize your entire body as it propels through the air.

So stick to jumping rope and good luck :)

How do we loose belly fat? What kind of exercises and how long ans y does it take so long to get trim stomach?

While you cannot target belly fat specifically with any type of exercise, you can target it in your entire body by doing some type of cardio exercises (running, swimming, biking, eliptical, etc). Sit-ups and crunches, while great for toning and building muscle, actually burn very little fat. A well rounded exercise routine would involve some of each of the following: Cardio, Strength, Abs

What should a 18 year old girl do to loose belly fat and to tone her arms a little?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Hey this isn’t advice for me but for my girlfriend. She is 18 and weights 180lbs and she wants to loose some weight but still keep her figure with the kinda big thighs but she wants to loose her belly fat and tone her arms. What would she need to do when it comes to exercise and diet and all that? Thanks for any help

Here is how to get rid of belly fat:

First you should know that it is not possible to spot reduce fat in just one part of your body, like your belly. In order to lose belly fat you will need to lose the fat all over your body.

In short you may need to start:

1) Eating healthier, this means:

Eat smaller meals
Eat more meals a day
Don’t starve yourself
Eat more vegetables and fruit
Drink more water
Less sugars and empty calories (less soft drinks, cakes, cookies)
Switch to whole wheat versions of your bread and pasta, brown rice instead of white rice

2) Exercising:

Forget crunches, crunches work your ab muscles but they don’t burn enough calories to eliminate belly fat, if you do hundreds of crunches daily you will have great abs but you won’t see them under your belly fat.

I prefer full body exercises they burn the most calories and increase you metabolism for a few hours after your workout.

Get a training partner or if you have a lot of weight to lose consider a fitness trainer, a very worthwhile investment – of the money you save on junk food for example =)

Try also to reduce stress and get enough sleep. Both of these are related to weight gain and emotional eating.
