what is the best way to lose belly fat ? excercising dieting what will work best ?

i just need to get in shape and want to lose some weight

The problem is it is pretty much impossible to target particular areas of the body to lose weight from. Your body is programmed to work efficiently and store any excess energy as fat. It chooses where to put it.

This means the only way to lose your belly fat is to follow a sensible nutrition and exercise programme that will maximise the amount of calories you burn.

You can take in calories a lot faster than you will ever burn them off. It would take me about two hours in the gym to burn off a burger and fries that I could eat in ten minutes. So the first thing is to make sure you eat a healthy diet. I’m rubbish at counting calories so I just go for a healthy diet avoiding processed food (its packed with hidden sugars and fats) I also avoid sugar and eat lots of fresh fruit and veg. It can also help to try to have your main meal early. Going to bed on a full stomach means the body will store the food as fat.

When you exercise you really need to make sure your body burns maximum calories. Again this is where our natural programming doesn’t help. Our bodies like to do everything on minimum calories. The best way to combat this is interval training.

Basically you vary the intensity of the exercise, and preferably vary the type of exercise. Pick any form of exercise that raises your heart beat. It could be the traditional jogging, treadmill, rowing, cycling, swimming. But just as good is moderately heavy housework or gardening. The trick is how you do the exercise.

Start off with a moderate two minute
Increase the pace for a hard 30seconds to a minute
Return to moderate for two minutes
Keep repeating the changes until you have completed around 15 – 30 minutes.

The changes in intensity prevents your body from adopting a style that minimises calorie burning. You will burn maximum calories and continue burning for some while after your workout.

The last thing to remember is that your major muscle groups (back, chest and thighs) need the most calories to work. So exercising these groups will also make good use of your time. Try leg lunges or squats, using weights to increase the intensity. If you have access to a gym weight training to work the chest and back is also good.

I’ve put together a lot more advice on my website. Hope all this helps

Best way to lose belly fat?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Personally, what has been the best technique for you to lose belly fat?

Hi dear,
follow these guidelines to get rid of belly fat
- Start exercising. Getting a flat stomach involves losing belly fat. To achieve this, start a workout routine. If possible, exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. If this isn’t possible, strive to exercise for at least 90 minutes a week – running, power walking, swimming or biking.
- Strengthen the core muscles. In conjunction with losing belly fat, choose workouts that exercise the core muscles. Effective workouts include dancing, pilates, crunches, and knee and leg lifts. For the best result, keep your abdominal muscles tight during core workouts.
- Improve your diet. Bad eating habits can impede weight loss efforts. Eliminate fatty foods and sugary foods from your diet. Choose lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and eat no more than 130 grams of carbs a day.
- Eliminate alcoholic beverages from your diet. Drinking more than two alcoholic beverages a day can raise cortisol levels in the body and decrease the metabolism. Cortisol increases hunger, and a slower metabolism makes it harder to burn fat and calories – especially in the abdomen.
- Drink plenty of water. Water flushes excess sodium and fluids from your body, which can help you achieve a flat stomach. Additionally, drinking water fills your stomach quicker, and you’re less likely to overeat.
- Control stress. Being stressed or feeling anxious can also release high levels of cortisol. In addition to increasing appetite, this hormone redistributes fat to the abdomen. Learn how to control or reduce stress. Practice breathing exercises, workout or get a massage.
- Reduce abdominal bloating. A low-fiber diet and certain foods can produce abdominal bloating. This prevents a flat stomach. Increase your fiber intake to fight bloating, and limit trigger foods such as beans, raw vegetables, lactose and starches. Take a digestive enzyme tablet to eliminate bloating.

Good Luck

what is the best way to lose belly fat before the summer?

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

im 17, 5′4 and weigh about 140-145. i can do about as many sit ups as a pro boxer buh i still have alot of belly fat. hwo can i get a 6 pac before the summer

you are repeating an easy exercise to which your body got used, many times – it never helps.
jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

Cardio or Sit-ups which is the best way to lose belly fat?

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

I’m 5′6 and I weigh 143. I was wondering is the best way to lose belly fat, cardio or is doing sit-ups?

For my Cardio I do 1 hour in the elliptical machine at max resistance (machine says I burn 800 calories). And 30 minutes of swimming.

For sit ups I do 150 sit-ups with 90 pounds of resistance.
I’m using a sit-up machine so it’s probably easier than just putting weights on you.

You cannot spot reduce – won’t happen, can’t do it, not possible….

You want to reduce you have to do it all over!

Sit ups are overrated, they (normally) hit your hips more than anywhere – is that what you want? I have to say though sit ups with 90lbs of resistance? How in the world are you measuring that, I can barely manage a single rep with just over half that amount directly in line with my head!

Intense cardio is going to be your best bet regards weight loss, but I’d try for a little more varied than just the elliptical (you’ll get bored of this eventually) – swimming is good though.

Variety in what you do, and how you do it is the key!

Hows the best way to lose fat and gain mass at the same time?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Hi im 29 around 5"8 and weigh around 160 pounds. I have quite a bit of belly fat sort of i guess like a skinny fat person. I attribute this to the fact that ive been consuming nearly 5000 calories a week drinking beer alone not to mention junk food and no exercise. My aim is to cut down drinking dramatically and try to eat healthier less fatty foods in order to flatten up my stomach.
The problem is although at the moment i fall inside a healthy BMI based on height\weight i think if i lose the fat i would become slightly underweight and need to gain more lean tissue to balance the fat loss. Any suggestion what would be the best way to do it? I have already started jogging and aim to do this every other day. at the moment i just do a mile as its been a while since i exercised i plan to increase the distance as i become able to. Cheers people

So you want gain muscle while you are currently losing body fat?

Yeah, not gona happen :P

Let me explain:

To lose body fat, you need to burn more than you eat. Your body will not go near your body fat if it gets what it needs from food. Why would it? If it gets what it needs as might as well save the fat for a rainy day :P

To gain muscle mass, you need to eat more than you burn. Muscles don’t grow on thin air. If you don’t eat enough for it to build and grow no amount of weight lifting will get you anything. If your body is burning everything it intakes, then nothing will be left for the muscle to grow on.

I don’t know about you, but unless you can eat less AND more at the same time, you can’t lose and gain weight at the same time. If you don’t believe me, test it, because I sure did :P

So what do you do? Do what the bodybuilders do. Do one goal at a time. Add X lbs of muscle by eating more for a few weeks/months, then remove X lbs of body fat by eating less for a few weeks/months, then repeat. Or revers :P

Or, you can take the easy way out and remove all the fat first, then if you don’t like your size you can just add muscle. At least you get to eat more and have a flat/six-pack stomach while you’re at it :P

Good luck man :)
